Not just a great song by The Monkees (for anyone old enough to remember) but something that also describes the number of different names attributed to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. In fact there is a whole Wikipedia page given to Alternative names for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. The most popular include myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), chronic fatigue immune dysfunction syndrome (CFIDS), and post-viral fatigue syndrome (PVFS). Depending on who you read these are either alternative names or closely linked conditions. In the age of the internet, search engines and Google this makes even finding out information difficult. The term Chronic fatigue returns nearly 5 million answers, myalgic encephalomyelitis delivers 368,000 and Post Viral Fatigue another 4.4 million. So to try and cut through that and find answers is itself is extremely taxing.
Having worked at the Dove Clinic for nearly five years I have learned quite a lot about CFS and the various treatment approaches. I have also known a family member and friends who have experienced the disorder and the many ways in which it manifests itself.View all of admin's posts.
